Winter Storm Pax: Townsend Crews Respond

Published on 02/18/2014

When the largest winter storm of the season made its way up the east coast starting on February 11, Townsend's Storm Team was called to duty. Winter Storm Pax brought record breaking snowfall and ice that affected the South and East coasts of the United States. Townsend deployed 66 crews consisting of 160 people throughout the states of Alabama, South Carolina and Georgia.

Pax's significant, blizzard-like snowfall and crippling ice caused approximately 1.2 million homes and businesses to lose power as it made its way from the South coast up the Northeast coast, resulting in catastrophic devastation in many areas. The quick response provided through the company’s Storm Response Team is indicative of the dedication to customer and community service that has been a hallmark of The Townsend Corporation for years.
